About Dianne

Dianne is a Student Counselling Intern completing her graduate studies in Counselling at Acadia University. She offers affordable counselling for adults, parents, youth, teens, and families in the Annapolis Valley.

Dianne helps people with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, burnout, health concerns, parenting challenges, family problems, and life changes.

Before joining Five Star Wellbeing, Dianne spent more than 20 years as a Registered Social Worker. She worked with people and families across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Her experience includes health care, nephrology, foster care, adoption, and family support. She also worked in Europe with Veterans Affairs Canada.

These experiences helped shape Dianne's understanding of mental health and wellbeing. They also taught her the importance of balance, strong relationships, and being present with the people we care about.

Outside of counselling, Dianne enjoys hiking, travelling, watching movies, and spending time with her fiancé and three children.

Fun Fact! Dianne once moderated a conference where she interviewed Dr. Gabor Maté, a well-known author and speaker on trauma, addiction, stress, and the connection between mind and body.
